Recommended Read: Folk Medicine

Folk Medicine: A New England almanac of natural health care from a noted Vermont country doctor by D. C. Jarvis, M.D. is a small book I picked up at a used book store.

I deeply appreciate the lessons he weaves in from treating not just people, but animals, with traditional methods. Yes, Western Medicine has made great strides, and when you need it, I am grateful for it. But somewhere in there we lost our way by letting go of simple home cures.

This book reminds us of the usefulness of simple products like honey, castor oil and apple cider vinegar to manage and cure disease, as well as maintain health and well being. A steady voice that offers the advice you wish your great-grandmother was around to give you. Highly recommend.
