Recommended Read: The Bhagavad Gita

Most spiritual seekers who reach out to the wisdom of the Eastern philosophies are familiar with the text The Bhagavad Gita. This particular recommendation is specifically for the translation by my teacher, Goswami Kriyananda of the Temple of Kriya Yoga.

Kriyanandaji’s specific talent was to translate these ancient texts in a form that is digestible and understandable by the Western mind. This specific translation is a tiny little volume. The entire book set to rhyme in brief couplets that offer the essence of the teachings with the least number of words.

If you are at all interested in understanding the epic battle we each fight in the journey of the soul, be sure to try this translation. Gandhi considered the Gita (the “Song of God”) to be required reading every year. It can be a useful reference for a life.
