How to Ritually Manifest Confidence
Confidence is sexy. Confidence is contagious. Confidence is a bundle of feelings and emotions which convey courage, optimism, faith and positivity.
The root of confidence typically comes from meeting challenges which creates a certain level of self-mastery and self-awareness. Confidence also requires a certain amount of fearlessness and a feeling of worthiness. We won’t believe that we are capable of achievement without an essential belief that we are worthy to receive the positive outcomes of that achievement.
When self-doubt creeps in, there needs to be a certain amount of “fake it till you make it.” This can feel disingenuous, but you need enough of that to carry you past the point of fear. It needs to carry you to the precipice of initiating the new project; of applying for that higher-level job; or walking up and talking to the person you need to network with or to whom you are attracted.
Anyone can benefit from ritually building or expanding their confidence. Unless you’re a total narcissistic personality, we all have moments of doubt, or occasionally lose our way.
Like any manifestation technique, you must begin with intention. What is it that you want or need? And then, do you feel worthy to receive what you are manifesting?
It can begin with something simple like a written affirmation daily: “Every day and in every way, I am becoming more confident.” You can have a daily regimen of confidence-building physical practices, like lifting weights or standing with your arms overhead (see Amy Cuddy’s TED Talk Body Language May Shape Who You Are).
Other simple steps are bringing your palms together every morning and looking at yourself in the mirror and bowing, saying “Namaste” which translates as the light in me acknowledges the light in you, and I honor you. This alone can help you to see yourself in a different way that brings acceptance, faith and a more hopeful outlook.
If you wish to set out to do a full manifestation ritual, choose a New Moon day and create an altar. A simple surface on which you can place objects that represent confidence and empowerment. Perhaps a photo of someone you admire who displays confidence; maybe a crystal or stone that can represent how you “shine” or how you are strong. Anything else you might consider that represents strength and courage, like a lion or elephant. Or if you align with a specific religion of deity, a photo or image of them. Add references to the five elements (a small dish of water; a candle for fire; a food offering of rice or something similar for earth; a feather for air; and incense or sage for ether).
You can either write out your manifesto of confidence to read aloud in front of your altar, or you can just stand in front of it to speak spontaneously. Speak affirmatively and with the confidence that you aspire to embody and project.
And purposefully embody that confidence by wearing clothing that day that makes you feel your best. Stand tall, with shoulders back, breathing and moving through your day in a way that demonstrates to the Universe the confidence you would like to imbue yourself with.
And when someone compliments you, about anything, whether it’s your good work, or your beautiful smile, be sure not to be self-deprecating. Practice simply saying “Thank You.”
